Infiniti Awards
Latest recognition for QX56, G35 Coupe, and Infiniti M

Motorist’s Choice Award

QX56 outscored all other vehicles rated across all classes in the inaugural 2006 Motorist’s Choice Awards. QX56’s index of 737 led all models, topping the next-highest-ranked vehicle — the Lexus LS 430 — by eight index points.

Two automotive study authorities, IntelliChoice.com and AutoPacific, created the Motorist’s Choice Awards to determine the vehicles that delivered both the highest satisfaction and lowest cost of ownership.

“While the economic analysis of car ownership remains very important — it can save or cost you thousands of dollars over the life of the vehicle — it is also important to recognize owner satisfaction as another significant influencer in vehicle purchases,” said James Bell, publisher of IntelliChoice.com. “With these awards, we have identified the vehicles that delight emotionally and economically — key points to consider when buying a vehicle.”

The awards take selected owner satisfaction data from AutoPacific’s surveys of new car and light truck buyers and combines it with IntelliChoice.com’s ratings. The Motorist’s Choice survey was composed of 45 different vehicle ownership attributes, 38 of which were product-focused and seven of which were cost-ownership-focused.

"Most Wanted" Awards

Edmunds.com, a respected online resource for automotive information, has presented Infiniti with two Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted awards for the 2007 model year.

The 2007 Infiniti M luxury performance sedan earned the Editors’ Most Wanted Sedan Under $45,000 award. Edmunds cited M’s “torque-rich powertrains, quick-shifting transmissions, solid build quality, and unique styling.”

The 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe received the Editors’ Most Wanted Coupe Under $40,000 award. According to Edmunds, G35 Coupe imparts “a sense of luxury, sport, and sophistication both outside and in.”

“The Editors’ Most Wanted winners provide class-leading performance, quality, style, and value,” said Karl Brauer, editor-in-chief at Edmunds.com. “These are the vehicles that our editorial team would choose to have in our own driveways.”

All-Star Numbers
2007 Infiniti G Sedan’s award-winning appeal

Infiniti has added two more prestigious awards to its trophy case. Automobile magazine presented the all-new Infiniti G Sedan with a “2007 All-Star” Award, and Car and Driver named it to its “10 Best” List.

In its January 2007 awards issue, Automobile says the new G Sedan is the first sport sedan to compete on equal footing with the BMW 3 Series: “the G35 is the first BMW competitor that doesn’t feel like it’s targeted at the last-generation 3 Series. Instead, it’s neck-and-neck with the current (quite brilliant) 3 Series.”

The magazine goes on to say that G Sedan “is every bit as good to drive hard as the BMW. That alone is an achievement in this ultracompetitive segment.” The magazine calls G Sedan “a performance bargain.”

Car and Driver also compares G Sedan favorably to the 3 Series in its January 2007 “10 Best” issue: “The composers of the second-gen G35 were clearly influenced by the themes that have kept the BMW 3s at the top of the hit parade for so long, but they’ve given it subtle Asian phrasing. The finished piece is supple and agile but a shade more aggressive than the German opus.”

The praise is welcome news — but no surprise — to Infiniti. “When we designed the new Infiniti G, we wanted to retain the elements from its predecessor that made it so fun to drive and own — performance, style, and value,” says Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti. “We kept this winning formula and refined it even more. It’s no surprise respected automotive publications and our customers recognize what a wonderful vehicle the G sport sedan is, and our sales numbers reflect this.”

The press awards join two other recent honors for the G lineup. G Sedan was named 2007 Urban Elite Car of the Year by Automotive Rhythms Communications, and G Coupe received the Editors’ Most Wanted Coupe Under $40,000 award from Edmunds.com.
